Candle Care

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.

Keep Away from Flammable Objects. Keep candles away from anything that can catch fire, such as curtains, furniture, bedding, books, and flammable decorations.

Keep Candles Out of Reach of Children and Pets. Place candles in a location where they cannot be knocked over by children or pets.

Trim the Wick Trim the candle wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm) before lighting. This helps prevent excessive flame size and soot. Keep wicks trimmed prior to each burn.

Avoid Draughts Keep candles away from draughts, vents, and air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning and avoid flare-ups or the emission of smoke.

Burn Candles on a Heat-Resistant Surface. Only burn candles on a level, heat-resistant surface to catch any dripping wax and prevent damage to surfaces.

First burn of the Candle. Always burn your candle for 3-4 hours on the first burn to ensure a full and even melt pool so the wax melt pool reaches the edges of the container. Wax holds memory, and this will prevent your candle from "tunnelling" during future burns.

Future burning of the Candle. Do not burn the candle for more than four hours at a time. Stop use when only 1cm of wax remains. Please take care not to burn these candles right to the bottom. Soy wax melts at quite a low temperature, but when the wax gets too low the naked flame may cause the vessel to crack.

Do Not Move Candles While Burning. Never move a candle while it is burning. Wait until it has cooled completely before moving it to avoid spilling hot wax.

Extinguish Candles Properly. Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Do not use water to extinguish candles, as it can cause hot wax to splatter.
